Gangtok: September 15:
Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee has asked acting president Kunga Nima Lepcha to clarify the withdrawal of a case against Government of Sikkim regarding CBI enquiry in Sikkim. A press conference was called by the Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee on 15th September at Gangtok and while addressing the media the vice president of SPCC, KN Upreti informed that acting president of the party Kunga Nima Lepcha had filed a case against Government of Sikkim regarding CBI enquiry in Sikkim but without any information to the party members he had withdrawn the case. Adding more Upreti alleged that Lepcha had met the former Minister RB Subba in Delhi during his visit and bargained with him. After returning from Delhi Mr Lepcha suddenly withdrew the case and falsely informed the public that during his visit to Delhi he was suggested by the Supreme Court to amend the petition, however according to the Supreme Court order the court clearly states that the petitioner wishes to withdraw the case and not vise versa. Upreti said that the reason behind it is still unknown and needs to be clarified by Lepcha himself to the people of the state. Upreti further mentioned that SPCC had filed cases against 13 people including Chief Minister Pawan Chamling and had also given lot of time and contribution to frame the case but without any suggestion, how Lepcha could withdraw the case.Upreti also strongly condemned the statement of former Minister SB Subedi in a party meeting where Subedi had requested the people of the state not to
read news papers; which is a highly undemocratic statement.
