The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the leading institution of business and industry in the Eastern and North Eastern Region of India with 86 years of experience is engaged in facilitating growth of trade and commerce in India in general and the North Eastern States in particular. ICC is focused primarily on developing trade and commerce and promoting industrialization.

ICC along with the CENTRAL WOOL DEVELOPMENT BOARD, Govt. of India is organizing three woolen exhibitions cum cultural programme each of 10 days duration at Guwahati, Assam; Dimapur, Nagaland and in Shillong, Meghalaya to showcase and promote various woolen products in the markets of north east India. It will also encourage the weavers of this sector in marketing their products and to conduct the publicity campaign to promote utilization of wool.

B M Lanong, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Meghalaya will inaugurate the 10 days Shillong woolen expo at 11am on 12th Nov 2012 at All Saints Hall, Shillong. H. Kyndiah, MD, Meghalaya Industrial Development Corporation, Govt. of Meghalaya, Mrs Nirmal Narula, Chairperson, Army Wives Welfare Association, Shillong, Ms Patricia Mukhim, Editor, The Shillong Times, Shillong, Govt officials and other dignitaries from various sectors and business houses would be present to grace the event.

Woolen weavers cum traders from across the North east and eastern region of the country including the local weavers will participate in the woolen expo.
