146 Primary School Teachers transferred in Sikkim


Gangtok, May 21, 2012:
The Human Resource and Development Department, Government of Sikkim has been keen in solving the dearth of teachers in primary schools in South, West and North district.

It is learnt that a total of 127 primary teachers in West, 136 in North and 19 in the South, totaling to 282 shortages has been worked out.

For the same the department has decided to transfer 280 teachers, out of which 146 have been already transferred.

During the State Level Panchayat Sammelan all three district panchayats had demanded the immediate posting of primary teachers in their respective three districts.

HRDD Minister NK Pradhan has requested all the teachers to follow the rules framed by the department and to render services in the rural places. He also said that there have been negative comments regarding the transfer of the teachers, but appealed the teacher to focus on their job.
