Minister HRDD NK Pradhan inaugurated the Sikkim Girls Battalion NCC, Gangtok office complex today here at the basement of Sikkim Government College’s Auditorium in Tadong.
Sikkim Government has taken the initiative to raise NCC Battalion purely for girl students of the State.
Minister HRDD NK Pradhan highly appreciated the endeavour and congratulated all the officers who have put on a lot of effort for the centre. As NCC is the largest youth organization in India and has an important role to play, one has to be disciplined and especially those who are a part of the organization like police, army added Pradhan. A good human being makes a good NCC said Pradhan.
Pradhan further added that all the schools and colleges of the State should be made aware of the newly raised Girls Battalion NCC. The head of the institutions should approach the Commanding Officer for starting of a girls sub unit in their respective schools and colleges. Being the disciplined organization, the girl students should utilize the best opportunities provided by NCC. Sikkim Government will increase the benefits and incentives of NCC in the field of employment and education. This is the first NCC Girls Battalion in the State.
“We have to bring qualitative change in attitude. I am confident that NCC will put in lot of effort not only will come out as a good student but as a good human being” quoted Pradhan. Col Ranveer Singh in his addressed expressed his sincere gratitude to the State government for their support. The office complex has just come up with the blessing of the Chief Minister and Minister HRDD NK Pradhan said Singh.
Adding more he said that the Department of Sports has always been kind to them, as whatever they demanded till date has been fulfilled. He also thanked the contractors Karma Bhutia and Sumit who have worked hard to bring up the centre.
The day also had the presence of Group Commander Col MG Venkatesh, Commanding Officers from various army units, various officials from accounts and audit branches of Sikkim Government were present.
