Sikkim: Students took lesson on World No Tobacco Day

Gangtok, 31 May, 2012:

Mangbrue Primary School under Sikkip BAC, South Sikkim observed No Smoking Day in the School today.

Rosy Rai, who is the incharge  of Tingmoo Secondary School in South Sikkim, attended the day as the Chief Guest and Buddha Lama from Kewzing Primary Health Sub Centre was the resource person of the day.
The day was started with a welcome speech by N.T. Lucksom, a teacher of the School and followed by the presentation of Lama about the history of the day and also the negative consequences of smoking cigarettes and other tobaccos.

The Chief guest on her part gave the data on how the smoking cigarettes and and chewing of tobaccos is affects one health and its very much fatal.

Earlier the Headmaster of the school urged the parents not to encourage the students to buy cigarettes and also appealed to quit smoking and at least not to smoke in front of the children.

The day was attended by the school staffs, smc members, guardians and the students.
