Gangtok, 25 May, 2012:
There are many young children in different communities of Sikkim who are deprived of the platform for exposing their latent talent in singing and other art forms. In spite of the various programs that are conducted, many young talents remain hidden due to lack of facilitation and counseling.
To address this pertinent issue the Voice of Shalom a singing contest that is being organized in different parts of Sikkim and North Bengal to give an exposure to the these young people.
An audition is being organized on 26th May at Bethesda Church complex starting from 10 am onwards at Indira Bye Pass road. Young talented artists and amateurs have been invited for the first round of audition whose results would be released on the same day. Successful candidates would be invited for the piano round and with further counseling and training; they would be made to compete in the different levels of the competition which would be held in the different parts of the State, states a press release issued by the organizers.
The singing avenue that has been created by Voice of Shalom has excited the young minds. In fact they are ready to impress the judges who are coming from Kalimpong and Darjeeling to address the issue of conflict of interest.
Winner of the event would be awarded a handsome cash prize with social recognition through various media. Rev Shyam Subba the President of the Local committee with his team of members would be organizing the logistics for the said event.
