Sikkim boy is Tamil Nadu state topper in Civil Engineering

Gangtok, 19 June 2012:

Dup Tshering Bhutia of Pelling, West Sikkim has made Sikkim proud by being one of the Tamil Nadu State toppers with 99.67% in Diploma in Civil Engineering.

Son of Pema Wangda Bhutia, Dup Tshering did his schooling from Pelling Senior Secondary School. In the year 2009 he enrolled for the Diploma in Civil Engineering at Nanjiah Lingammal Polytechnic College, Mettupalayam Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

His results were announced yesterday in which he successfully scored 598 out of 600. In a total of 6 subjects, Dup Tshering scored 100 out of 100 in 4 of his subjects namely, Hydraulics, Computer Application, Civil Engineering Lab, Project Work and Hydraulics Plumbing and in the rest 2 i.e. Town Planning and Construction Management he secured 99 each. Dup Tshering came to a close second to the 1st State topper who is from Tamil Nadu itself who has secured 599 out of 600.
