Gangtok, 22 June 2012:

The Retired (Pensioners’) Employees Association’s Central Committee meeting was held today, under the Chairmanship of its President, Dorjee Tshering Bhutia at the Employees Guest House. Various important issues were discussed and deliberated and decisions were also taken.

During the meeting it was decided that the Association’s Sub Committees to be constituted and the elections for the District Sub Committees and Sub Divisional Committees was decided to be held within the month of July. The Central Executive body will be visiting Pakyong on June 27 for a meeting to discuss some formalities with the Adhoc Committee followed by further meetings at Gangtok and Singtam.

Bhutia expressed the Association’s gratefulness towards the Chief Minister (CM), Pawan Chamling who had assured them in making arrangement for office accommodation when they had approached him. Although the Association has been frequently visiting the Urban Development & Housing Department (UD&HD) since February 14, 2012 nothing has happened so far regarding the same, hence they will once again be requesting the CM for the accommodation as soon as possible, added Bhutia.
