Sikkim: Sadar Police recovers unidentified body

Gangtok, 8 June 2012:

Sadar Police has recovered one unidentified dead body of a male aged between 20- 23 years, height of 5 ft 3inches in the morning hours of June 05, 2012 lying beside the CC footpath which connects Maanbir Colony and the Forest Colony under Burtuk Constituency, East Sikkim.

The deceased was found wearing a black T shirt, blue jeans, brown coloured PT vest from inside, striped spec shoes, a steel bangle in the hand, beaded necklace, a silver ring in the left hand and earrings in both of his ears. He also has a tattoo on his right arm. Since no marks of accidents, attacks or fights could be seen on the body hence, the Police and the locals suspect over dose of drugs as the reason for the death. The case has been registered by the Sadar Thana under section unnatural death case No. 30 (6) 12, dated 05/ 06/ 2012, CRPC 174.

The Police have further sent the body to the STNM hospital where it will be preserved for 72 hours for its identification.
