Photo Exhibition “Sikkim Then and Now” inaugurated

The Fifteen days long Photo Exhibition with the theme “Sikkim Then and Now” organized by the Information and Public Relations Department(IPR), Government of Sikkim was inaugurated by Mr. Dorjee Namgyal Bhutia MLA Gangtok  at Old Star Cinema Hall in the capital, today. Mr. K.N Topgay, Mayor GMC was present as the special guest.

The chief guest along with the special guest, Deputy Mayor Mr. Shakti Singh Chaudhary and Mr. K.S Topgay, Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department visited and inspected the photograph displayed at the exhibition. The exhibition exhibits the photographs of various activities of the Monarchy in Sikkim from the year 1934 to the modern democratic system incorporating various developmental activities of the state government and the recent village to village tour of the Chief Minister, Mr Pawan Chamling. The aim of the exhibition is to give a photo glimpse of the past and the present to the people especially the younger generations and the tourists.

The Exhibition will be held till 14th of June 2011.
