Dawa Sangpo Dorjee again called a press conference on 21st December and expressed his unhappiness that till now he has not been granted an audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, whereby he could talk to him on the Karmapa issue.

He informed that the Norbu Chholing Monastic Committee had applied to the Home Department on 30th November 2010 in order to adjust the appointment with H.H. Dalai Lama for the same matter. The concerned application was directly sent to the Ecclesiastical Department by the Home Secretary and the same file was forwarded by the said department to the Personal Secretary to H.H. the Dalai Lama with the assurance and commitment to adjust the appointment after receiving consent from the Personal Secretary.

However till date they have not received any response from the concerned authority. One of the claimant of 17th Karmapa title, he further added that they feel that this is a diplomatic conspiracy of the concerned authority. He mentioned that, they have also sent memorandum to the President of India, Prime Minister of India, Union Home Minister, Governor of Sikkim and Chief Minister Pawan Chamling on 21st December.

He alleged that the Dalai Lama wants to collect supporter of Ogyen Trinley Dorjee and without test he has recognized Ogyen Trinley Dorjee as a 17th Karmapa of Rumtek Dharma Chakra.

Further adding that the Central and State government has been trying to turn it into a political issue and around 40% of the general public are still confused regarding the 17th Karmapa. He further added that he has many supporters but he does not want to show power because people loves him from their heart and not because of power or money. “I am ready to sit for any type of test with Ogyen trinley Dorjee” he added.
