Sikkim Archery Association is organizing the State Level Junior and Open Archery Championship, 2010 on 14th and 15th December, 2010, at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok.

In the tournament Indian Round and Compound Round will be played. As per the information received, this tournament is also the selection ground for the state contingent members who will participate later in the Junior National Championship scheduled to be held on 26th December at New Delhi.

The Association is also organizing the Winter Archery Coaching Camp from 24th November to 2nd December 2010, at Old Guards Ground, Tathangchen. It has requested the interested archers from around the state to contact the State Chief Archery Coach, Mr Zigmee Yodzer and State Archery Coach, Mr Thupten Rongkup immediately to participate in the tournament as well as the coaching camp.

It has also been informed that SAA had sent a four-member state team accompanied by the coach, Mr. Rongkup to Sahara Senior Indian Round National Archery Championship, which was recently held at Madhya Pradesh. The team members were Mr Suraj Subba, Mr Prem Deep Rai, Mr Lako Tshering Lepcha and Mr Dev Raj Rai. Although the state team could not win any medal in the championship but it stood on the 14th rank among the 35 participating state teams in the championship. In individual ranking, among four participants Mr Dev Raj stood on 31st position and Mr Lako Tshering Lepcha on 57th position.
