Sex workers arrested from Arithang, Sikkim

Gangtok: 12th June:
Three women involved in sex racket have been arrested by Sadar police from a hotel in Arithang, Gangtok. The police raided the hotel as they were informed by a reliable source about the immoral business. When the team reached the spot under the lead of SDPO Ongmu Tshering Bhutia four Rima (name changed), 19 years, Lata (name changed), 24 years and agent Sharmila Subba were arrested along with one customer. As per the information the agent was living in Arithang in a rented house and she used to give rupees five hundred to the sex workers for every customer and used to keep the rest with her. The sex workers as per police information have been sent to Mamtalaya, a destitute home and police is trying to contact their families to send them home. A case has also been registered under Immoral Trafficking Act, 1965 and the case is under investigation.
