West District Bhutia Kayrab Yargay Tshogpo (BKYT) a literary association of Bhutia Language organized its district level meeting at Kyongsa Girls Senior Secondary School (KGSSS), Gyalshing on Sunday, November 7, 2011, informs a press release.
The meeting was attended by all the concern Bhutia language teachers and general public of west Sikkim. Padmashree Norden Tshering Bhutia, former Director Education Department and presently the President of Bhutia Kayrab Yargay Tshogpo, General Secretary Pema Rinzing lama (former HRDD Joint Director), Tashi Bhutia Joint Director HRDD and the other central executive body and district level executive bodies from all over state participated in the meeting.
The meet was organized to counsel all the concern teachers to work sincerely and efficiently without forgetting their responsibilities and to understand the activities of west district executive body in the recent past. It was an important occasion for all as Bhutia language studying student are decreasing in enrollment
and linguistic knowledge. The teachers were advised by the president and general secretary and few other resource persons to work according to the principle and objectives of the association without politicizing the cause as Bhutia Kayrab Yargay Tshogpo is completely an apolitical body in its principle and spirit.
Further, the meeting appointed some of the new advisory body and active members from different schools of west Sikkim. The meet also finalized of conducting some of the important activities in future such as quiz, essay competition, excursion for students to various historic and religious place, career counseling including both the parents and students, so that the Bhutia language, culture, traditions and customs be saved from deterioration. Furthermore the association during the meet informed about organizing meeting to access the activities of the association from time to time.
