The final meeting of approaching maghey mela at Jorethang concluded today in the presence of area MLA Madan Cintury. The concluding meeting gave rise to a new organising committee.

MLA Madan century has been nominated as the chief patron, Kewal Sharma as general secretary accompanied by panchayats as the members. The meeting affirmed the cancellation of meena mela and will be soundless with no cultural and highly entertaining games and sports.

“It’s the way of the people of Jorethang to contribute something for the departed (18/9 and the Bijanbari incident)” said Cintury.

Expo, meena bazar, governmental stalls, JB shops and hotels got the green signal for the mela. Furthermore the organising committee has organized three day long puja with candle rally for the 18/9 and the Bijanbari incident’s departed souls.

The candle rally is scheduled to start from 14-16 January from Jorethang ground. The committee has urged all the people of Jorethang to participate in it.

Officials of different departments, bussinessmens and the local people also attended the meeting.
