The Quarter Final round of Red Ribbon Super Band Contest was conducted at Sikkim Government College Auditorium Tadong on 21st January, 2012. 21 bands shortlisted from the state wide auditions put up their performances before a panel of judges comprising of eminent musicians. 10 bands have made it to the semi-finals of the Competition, scheduled for 30th January 2012.
Speaking on the occasion, Project Director, Sikkim State AIDS Control Society, Dr. Uttam Pradhan expressed his satisfaction about the quality of the programme. He stressed that he was overwhelmed to witness the display of talent from the youth of Sikkim. He expressed his gratitude to all the participating bands for endorsing the Red Fest and the larger issue of HIV & AIDS and Substance Abuse. He informed that all the bands had put in sincere effort to write and present the theme song on HIV & AIDS.
Pradhan further stated that it was a privilege for SSACS to host such an event. He expressed his gratitude towards all the NGO partners namely Bethzatha Society, HOPE Foundation, Sikkim Network of Positive People, and Recovering Users’ Network for making this programme successful. The day-long programme was anchored by Dewaker Basnet.
