‘My Valentine is the people of Sikkim’- Aamir Khan
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan arrived Gangtok on his few days visit to Sikkim. He is right now staying in Mayfair Resort in Gangtok. This is for the first time that actor Khan is visiting Sikkim.
Rumors were heard that Khan was here for the shoot with his crew. But while talking to isikkim.com, Khan said that this was just a personal tour. “I have heard a lot about Sikkim which drives me here” said Amir Khan and added that he is not here for any film shooting. “I am stunned by the mesmerizing beauty of the place” said Khan. The people are so charming, loving; well dressed, enterprising and disciplined he quoted. He said that he heard that Sikkimese people are affectionate to music added Khan. When asked about Valentine day as he was alone not accompanied by his wife, Mr. Perfectionist smiled and said “My valentine is the people of Sikkim”.
Khan also expressed his deepest sadness on the 18/9 earthquake which claimed many life. “Considering the charm and grace of the people it seems like the earthquake has not devastated the spirit of the people” said Khan. He has wished for the speedy healing of state.
After reaching Gangtok by helicopter with two body guards yesterday, from Bagdogra, Khan drove himself to Rumtek Monastery, a 20 KM drive from the capital. A 16 member team also joined Khan today at Gangtok which hints an inspection of location. The itenery of Khan’s tour is not disclosed as per security measures. It is also learnt that Khan will be visiting Tsomgo Lake, Gurudongmar Lake, and some hot spots in West Sikkim.
With Mr. Perfectionist in the town, the scenario is warmed up as huge fans have been witnessed outside the hotel for a glimpse. Khan today was seen at MG Marg, the heart of the town with tight security, where he was encircled by hundreds of fans for autograph.
With the coming of soccer superstars, bollyhood actors Neha Dhupia and Rahul Bose on January 22, and Aamir Khan Yesterday to Sikkim have added another feather to Sikkim. It is a clear and loud message that Sikkim is safe to visit as any other places in the world even after the draconian 18/9 incident.
