Sikkimese Beauty Queen 22 years old Sonam Pachey is one of the 16 finalists of the coveted Pantaloon Famina Miss India 2012 (PFMI 2012). Sonam was chosen as a finalists for the PFMI 2012 finale in the final round of selections held on January 31 at Hotel Novotel in Juhu, Mumbai.

In its 49th year, Pantaloons Femina Miss India (PFMI) 2012 is a lifetime opportunity for aspiring young girls from all over the country.

Sonam, hailing from Rumtek, East Sikkim was the 1st runner up in the Pantaloon Femina Miss India East 2012 concluded in December last year.

The 5′ 7 Sikkimese beauty queen Sonam Pachey is studying at the Mount Carmel College, Bangalore and has done her schooling from PNGSSS Gangtok. Sonam won this coveted beauty contest after a tough competition from 11 finalists.

Sonam is the only Sikkimese beauty to have made it to the finals of the coveted national PFMI 2012. There is one more finalists from northeast: Himakshi Agarwala (Assam).

The other 14 finalists are Ruhi Singh (Rajasthan University, Jaipur), Sana Khan (National College, Mumbai), Shamata Anchan (Mithibai College, Mumbai), Sneha Upadhyay (Mumbai), Sonampreet Bajwa (Delhi University), Vanya Mishra (Chandigarh), Vidhi Bhardwaj (Galgotias College of Engineer and technology, Greater Noida), Erica Fernandes (St Andrews, Bandra, Mumbai), Farah Hussain (MANIT, Bhopal), Ipsita Pati (Chaitanya Management College, Vishakhapatnam), Karuna Dogra (University of Delhi), Prachi Mishra (Allahabad), Priyanka Verma (Kanoria Girls College, Jaipur) and Rochelle Maria Rao (M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Woman, Chennai).
