If you are at least 18 years old Sikkimese beauty and not married, here is your opportunity to showcase your beauty and earn name and fame. YESSS!!! The biggest Beauty pageant of Sikkim MISS SIKKIM 2012 is back. Finally, after a wait of 5 long years, the beauty contest is being organised by the Travel Agents Association of Sikkim (TAAS) in association with CKIM travels, said a Press Release.

This year the theme of the pageant is ‘Beauty with Compassion and a Mission’. In the upcoming week various rounds of selection procedure will be held. And the final Event is scheduled on Feb 24, at Mayfair spa resort & Casino.

Raj Pradhan Managing Director CKIM Travels said, that the idea is to encourage people to preserve the rich culture and to spread love and togetherness. That why the first round their beauty contest is traditional round in which the contestants will be dressed in the traditional dress of their choice. It will be followed by swimsuit round. The final round will be evening gown round where final 10 contestant will be questioned and the final three winners will be announced.

The winner will be taking home Rs. 25,000. The 1st runner up will be awarded Rs. 15,000 and 2nd runner up Rs. 10,000. Lots of surprise gifts for contestant will also be on offer.

Mr. Pradhan said that this the mission of Miss Sikkim Pageant is to help showcase beauty and talents of young women and preserve the coveted title of Miss Sikkim. It is also an initiative to recover the losses and boost the tourism industry of Sikkim due to September 18 Earth Quake that devastated the economy of Sikkim. The idea was conceived to re-activate various stake holders of tourism in the beautiful state of Sikkim who suffered tremendously due to the earth quake. It will also bring in new opportunities to the young generation of Sikkim, said Pradhan.
