President Bharati expressed dismay on the delay of Madan Tamang Murder Case

The Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League (ABGL) party Central Committee held a meeting at its Darjeeling party office presided over by its President, Bharati Tamang, Vice President Laxman Pradhan, General Secretary, Pratap Khati along with other members of the party. The meet was all about discussing the ABGL’s present political scenario and the ways to make it forceful in the hills.
General Secretary Khati, informing about the meeting said that apart from these other 3 topics were also discussed such as the celebrations of ABGL’s 69th Foundation day which falls on May 15, 2012. The ABGL former President, Madan Tamang’s 2nd death anniversary which falls on May 21, 2012 shall also be observed. The delay in solving the Madan Tamang murder case by the CBI was final topic of discussion for the day.
Regarding the same the President, Bharati Tamang also the widow of Madan Tamang expressed her dismay over the delay. She added that it has been 2 years since the broad daylight murder and no progress has been occurred in the case as such. “The culprits are all living as freemen”, whined the disappointed widow. Hence, she appealed the CBI to produce the case results as soon as possible.
The ABGL leader from Kalimpong, Chewang Bhutia commenting on the Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA) issue said that the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) via GTA are simply trying to fool the public. He questioned that why the GJM never demanded for the Terai – Dooars inclusion when they were signing for GTA in before the State and the Central Government. GJM now creating a hullabaloo for Terai – Dooars and trying to manipulate the innocent public with their own negative ideas, he concluded.
The ABGL will be inviting all its supporters, party workers and the old members during the 69th Foundation day. Also the death anniversary of its former President will be commemorated by paying homage at the memorial of Madan Tamang situated at Club side. It has strictly been informed that all the parties of the hills can participate in the commemoration except for the GJM. (TS)
