16 years-old Sumedha Mittal, a student of Tashi Namgyal Academy, Gangtok, is the proud State topper for Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) exams this year.
She has secured 96% average and highest in maths, i.e. 100%. Sumedha, having secured 96 % in Hindi and 94% in English, has already taken up science stream in for Class XI.
“It is an overwhelming feeling .I had never expected that I would be the State topper. Credit goes to my teachers, parents and friends” said Sumedha talking to Sikkim Mail.
Her father on the other hand said that he was expecting that it would happen. The parents expressed their happiness over their daughter’s achievement.
The total pass percentage which is said to be very good this year could not be confirmed, due to holiday today. The results were declared on Saturday.
