32 candidates from SU Centre clears UGC NET; 3 qualifies for JRF

Altogether 32 candidates have cleared the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) from Sikkim University centre.
Among the successful candidates, three have qualified for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and 29 for eligibility for Lectureship.
As per an official release issued by the university, Geography and Commerce has the highest number of successful candidates.
The UGC declared the results of June 30 on October 21. Nationwide, a total of 27,402 candidates have qualified for the eligibility of Lectureship. Out of these, 3,684 candidates have qualified for JRF.
In Sikkim University, the only NET coordinating centre for Sikkim, 90 percent of the 617 registered candidates appeared for the exam on June 30. The turnout, the university release states can be considered good as compared to other coordinating centres.
One of the notable features of June 2013 UGC-NET results is that Anil Kumar Yadav, an alumni of Sikkim Government College, Tadong and presently deputy general manager with Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Gangtok Office, has cracked this tough national level test in record four subjects till date.
Till now he has cleared the UGC-NET in Economics, Management, Commerce and Labour Welfare/Personnel Management/Industrial Relations/ Labour and Social Welfare/Human Resource Management.
It may also be mentioned that he has achieved the distinction of having Masters Degrees in 11 disciplines including Sociology, Management (MBA), Mass Communication, Psychology, Financial Management, Environment & Development, M.Com (BIM), Economics, Master of Mass Communication & Journalism (MCJ), M.Com (IBO) and International Relations.
The subject wise break up for Lectureship from SU examination centre are: Economics-01; Psychology-01; Sociology-06; History-02, Commerce-05; Education-02; Physical Education-01; Indian Culture-01, HRM/Labour Welfare/Personnel Management-01; Library Science-01; Mass Communication & Journalism-01; Geography-06 and Tourism Administration & Management-01. The breakup of 3 JRF qualified subjects is – Commerce-01; Buddhist, Jaina, Gandhian & Peace Studies-01 and Geography 01.
The National Education Testing Bureau of UGC conducts NET every year in June and December for award of JRF and to determine eligibility for lecturership for Indian nationals to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research.
The online registration for UGC NET December 2013 exam has already been declared opened by the UGC.
