Sikkim: One killed in truck mishap at Aapdara

One person was killed when a loaded truck slipped down the road and crashed 500 feet down at Aapdara near Dikchu on February 24 morning. The vehicle was plying to Chungthang from Siliguri with a cement consignment when the mishap took place just 2 kms ahead of Dikchu.

Rup Narayan Pradhan, 57 years, died at the spot. He was a resident of Kazitar Dikchu and his body has been sent for autopsy at district hospital in Singtam.

Driver Rajesh Pradhan and his helper Kumar Chettri sustained injuries and were one killed in truck mishap at Aapdara rescued by Aapdara youths. They were referred to Central Referral Hospital in Gangtok after preliminary treatment at Dikchu primary health centre.

This is the fifth accident in the same spot at Aapdara.
