In preparation of the 2nd International Flower Show 2013, the Chief Secretary Karma Gyatso along with Additional Chief Secretary, other Heads of Department and a host of senior officials visited Saramsa garden on February 1.
The visit was made for the purpose of taking stock of the preparedness of the garden for hosting the international mega event.
The Chief Secretary directed the concerned authorities to complete the road carpeting and widening of the approach road from Ranipool to Saramsa at the earliest.
Forest department was directed to complete the beautifications from Ranipool to Saramsa.
The Tourism department was directed to ensure that the Convention Hall was well decorated.
The Chief Secretary directed the RMDD to assured the completion of all toilets. He emphasized on the need for Tourist Information counter and help desks to be manned by competent personnel.
Traffic arrangements were also discussed at length to ensure that no persons are inconvenienced. Fire safety measures were also to be put in place, he advised.
The Chief Secretary directed the authorities to have a proper Media Room at the venue.
The Secretary made a thorough inspection of the entire Saramsa Garden before heading back for Gangtok.
