Sikkim Tourism and Civil Aviation Department organised Tourism Stake Holders Meet here in Hotel Ashoka on March 7 night. Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs Ninong Ering was the chief guest while P.D. Rai Lok Sabha M.P, Hishey Lachungpa Rajya Sabha M.P., Gudmundur Eiriksson Ambassdor of Iceland in India were Guests of the Honour. Top Indian civil officials and Sikkim government attended the meet .
Sikkim Tourism Secretary K.S.Tobgay explained in details the various incentives being provided for tourism sector in Sikkim. He told about the immense tourism potential in adventurous, religious and natrure tourism and told that Sikkim tourism industry is growing at fastest speed due to quality tourism infrastructure and complete peace, tranquility and harmony in the state .
Tourism Secretary K.S Tobgay invited the business houses to invest in tourism infrastructure in the state by setting up premium hotel chains and other entertainment industries and assured them that state govt will facilitate them for setting up their units in the state.
Tobgay explained them about the scope of investment in various priority sectors of the state govt particularly in eco tourism and the state government will fully facilitate them in this regard. He also invited them to visit Sikkim in near future for on the spot study of various tourism projects.
