NSP mulls over Nepali poetry workshop for Sikkimese youths
GANGTOK, April 29, 2013
The president of Nepali Sahitya Parishad CM Khatiwara on April 28 said that the Parishad would be organizing a workshop on poetry writing to encourage budding and aspiring poets.
He was speaking on the 77th edition of Pratibha Milan at Parishad Bhawan here. The programme also commemorated the birth anniversary of renowned poet Shiv Kumar Rai.
Khatiwara said that the new executive committee needs suggestions and opinions from people of different sections of Sahitya Parishad mulls over poetry workshop for youngsters the society to make Nepali Sahitya Parishad more activity oriented.
Poet Kalu Singh Ranaphaeli who chaired the function as the chief guest said that Pratibha Milan is a programme which provides opportunity to highlight the hidden talents in literature and culture.
Professor TB Chettri also presented a talk on the life of poet Shiv Kumar Rai.
The function also witnessed poetry recitations by Prabin Rai Jhumeli and the students of Paljor Namgyal Girls Senior Secondary, Tashi Namgyal Academy and Modern School.
