Sikkim: Awareness programme on prevention of Dengue

After having information on outbreak of “Dengue” in other district of the state, north district administrative centre has formed district level committee, led by C. P. Dhakal, District magistrate, North for prevention of dengue.

While the committee has decided to hold a series of awareness programme in the district on prevention of dengue, the programme was kicked off on September 9 here at Mangan Bazar in the presence of DM, North. During the programme Noday Lachungpa, health educator and R. Dadul, DMS Mangan gave general information on prevention and symptoms of dengue.

On the occasion, pamphlets were distributed among gathering and insisted them to go thoroughly as to stay away from such a deadly decease ‘dengue’.

“A little careless and ignorance about dengue can kill us,” said Dhakal, DM/N while speaking at the programme. He urged the gathering to join hands in keeping all surroundings clean and to disseminate the general information to the masses.

This type of programme will be organized in different places of the district to generate awareness by the committee among the local people, official said.
