A weeklong entrepreneurship development with a focus on Skill Enhancement and Financial Management programme was inaugurated by Mr. Tshering Wangdi Lepcha, MLA and Chairman, Primitive Tribe Welfare Board(PTWB) at a local hotel on February 14.
The programme was organized by Primitive Tribe Welfare Board, Department of Social Justice, Empowerment and Welfare/Welfare Division and funded under SCA TO TSP, GOI (2013-14).
The Primitive Tribal Welfare Board (PTWB) was constituted in the state of Sikkim in the beginning of the year 2013 with the objective of to uplift the socio economic and educational development of the Lepcha Community of Sikkim.
The youths from various parts of the state have been invited by the Board for the weeklong training.
Addressing the youth the Chief Guest Mr. Tshering Wandi Lepcha said that the Government of Sikkim is very concerned in all around development of the Sikkimese people. He thanked the Chief Minister on behalf of the Lepchas community on his steps for the welfare of the Lepcha Community. He suggested the youth to grab the opportunity provided by the Government for the betterment of their future.
The Principal Secretary SJE&WD and the Member Secretary (PTWB) Mr. G.P Upadhyaya briefed about the programme and the schemes of the department and the board. He mentioned that the board is well functioning under the Chairmanship of Mr. Tshering Wangdi Lepcha and the schemes and the fund is flowing for the welfare of the Lepcha community.
Earlier, the Special Secretary/ Project Director Mrs. Januki Pradhan deliver welcome speech whereas Mr Dushyant Pariyar Joint Secretary, Welfare Division proposed vote of thanks.
