As per the direction given by the Chief Minister Pawan Chamling on 17th of May 2011 during the village to village tour at Salghari regarding the enhancement of green cover of Salghari area the department of Forest, Environment and Wildlife Management (FE&WLMD), Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) social forestry, south district conduced a meet at Salghari Secondary School on 2nd July respectively to discuss over the afforestation issue along with laying of plans.
Entire belts starting from lower Assangthang till lower Salghari covering Dorop will be taken up for afforestation works. A total of five Panchayat ward falls under the proposed area that is under Salghari Gram Panchayat Unit that are, Upper Salghari, Lower Salghari, Upper Dorop, Lower Dorop and Dhargaon.
Furthermore the division wise allotment of wards for taking up of afforestation works were also carried out like Upper and Lower Salghari ward will be under DFO South whereas Lower Dorop ward is under DFO (S/F) south, Upper Dorop ward under DFO (T) south and Dhargaon ward is given to DFO (NTFP) south respectively.
