The Denzong Agricultural Co-operative Society Ltd. has been undertaking massive marketing of the poultry broilers produced by local farmers.
In a press release issued by the Managing Director of the Society it has been mentioned that the marketing has drastically increased during the current year, thereby immensely benefiting the local economy. During six months periods, from April to October 2010, an amount of Rs. 2,23,89,178/- has been disbursed among local farmers on account of marketing of 3,05,109 kgs of local broilers.
The marketing is being carried out through member cooperative societies. This shows the Society’s commitment towards the upliftment of local economy as well as giving boost to the cooperative movement in the State adds the release.
The Society is playing important role as a partner to the initiative taken by the State Government through Poultry Mission, by meeting majority of Army’s requirement from local surplus production of poultry broilers. We are also marketing the local oranges and some of the vegetable items for Army requirement.
