Six archers contested each other in the State Open Archery (Compound) Ranking Tournament organized by the Sikkim Archery Association at Old Guards Ground on 19th December.
In the tournament, Dr Ongden Gyatso topped the rank followed by Karma Loday on second and Jigme D Denzongpa on third positions. Likewise, Dr Passang D Phempo secured the fourth position, Rapden P Kazi on fifth and Jigme Basi on six positions.
The ranking was done on the basis of grand total of the points scored by the archers in 70 meters and 50 meters events in the tournament. The top four archers in the ranking have also been shortlisted by the SAA to represent Sikkim in the upcoming Senior National Archery Tournament scheduled to be held from 5th to 10th February, 2011 at Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh. The president of Sikkim Archery Assocation TT Bhutia was also present during the tournament.
