One labourer loses his life in a scuffle

The police reported an FIR on 5th January 2011 at around 1:10 a.m. from one Krishna Bahadur Thapa resident of Mechi Busty, Jaigoan, West Bengal presently residing at Lumsey Busty, East Sikkim informing about a scuffle at the All India Service Quarters construction site at Lumsey on 4th January 2011 at about 7p.m. His friend Dig Bahadur Rai was severely beaten up causing serious injuries during the process by 7-8 Muslims labours. The victim was immediately evacuated to Central Referral Hospital were he succumbed to his injuries around 4:45 a.m.

The assailants were arrested and identified as Alek Hussain, Nazimul Islam, Zimamul Md., Md. Kahiadul, Md. Joidul, Rizahul Hussain, Narzan Roy, Rojul Haq and Md. Umad Faruq. All are residents of Cooch Bihar, West Bengal, currently residing at Lumsey Tadong and are labourers by profession. The verbal tussle between the deceased and Nazimul Islam over the issue of gathering and shortening of firewood nearby the marble granite storage resulted in the scuffle. The death body has been handed over to the deceased’s family after being examined, inquest conducted and medical autopsy. The instant case has been later converted to 304 of IPC, 1860 and the investigation is underway.
