The Sikkim Archery Association is organizing the 2nd President Cup Bamboo Archery Tournament 2011 from the 14th of January 2011. The final of the tournament is scheduled for the 13th of February 2011. Thirty one teams from all over Sikkim and Pedong in Kalimpong, West Bengal are taking part in the tournament.

Cash prizes of Rs 30,000/- Rs 20,000/- Rs 10,000/- and Rs 5000/-will be awarded to the first, second third and fourth placed teams respectively. The opening ceremony on the 14th of January 2011 will have Shri K.T Gyaltsen, the Hon’ble Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly as the Chief Guest and the day will feature the match between Sangtong Ranka and Dapen Tathangchen.

Further, the Sikkim Archery Association informs that a team of 13 archers representing the Association took part in the ongoing 11-a – side Archery Tournament at Pheuntsoling, Bhutan and returned victorious from their first match against Yangphel Archery Club of Thimpu, held on the 8th -9th of January 2011. The next match is scheduled for the 18th 19th of January 2011.
