A state level banker’s meet was convened by NABARD at a local hotel to popularize the Capital Subsidy–cum-Refinance Scheme for installation of solar off-grid (photo–voltaic and thermal) and decentralised applications under the Jawaharlal Nehru Solar Mission of the New and Renewable Energy, Government of India. The meeting was attended by the officials from Reserve Bank of India, other public sector banks, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and regional manager of State Bank of India.
Welcoming the participants A. N. Tambe, DGM, NABARD highlighted the Capital Subsidy–cum-Refinance Scheme for installation of solar off-grid (photo–voltaic and thermal) and decentralised applications and urged upon the Bankers to popularize the same so that its benefits accrue to those facing lighting and water heating problems for greener and cleaner India. A detailed power point presentation of the same was made by M. K. Goyal, AGM NABARD and all the issues relating to its implementation were discussed at length to clarify doubts raised by the participants. Mr. Goyal highlighted that under the scheme 11 models of home lighting systems have been approved by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy for which 30% subsidy will be disbursed up-front for installation of the system and 50% loan support will be extended by banks.
