GANGTOK, JAN. 19, 2011:

Ten participants from Sikkim have entered the semi final of “North East ke super star” being held in Guwahati. North East ke Super Star is a talent (singing and dancing) based TV show launched by North East Council (NEC) under Ministry of DoNER for eight North Eastern states with the aim of promoting the talents of North East India. The show, uniquely designed to accommodate both singers and dancers from the Northeast, including Sikkim, is aimed at attracting youths to focus on creative energy.

The show was launched last year in the month of November and will be aired on one of the national televisions (yet to be decided). “All the ten participants from Sikkim performed well in state preliminary round making their place in the semi final” informed Remanti Rai, a participant from Sikkim speaking over the phone from Guwahati. According to Ms. Rai the participants from Sikkim also got appreciation as the best disciplined groups from the organizers.

Ms. Rai said that after the completion of the respective state preliminaries, semi-finals and finals the best dancer and singer of the region will be selected for the mega finale falling on 22nd of January in Guwahati.

The winners of the state finale and the mega finale events will also be crowned with titles and provided with attractive prizes.
