GANGTOK, NOVEMBER 29TH
Around ten table tennis players from Sikkim are going to participate in the “Cadet Sub-Junior Boys and Girls National Table Tennis Championship” scheduled to be held from 3rd December to 8th December at Indore, Madhya Pradesh. As informed by the General Secretary of Sikkim Table Tennis Association, Karma Bhutia, Sikkim is going to take part in this championship after a long gap. At present thirty players from around the state are being given coaching at Paljor Stadium and amongst these thirty, ten best players will be chosen for this upcoming championship by the STTA. He also informed that east district table tennis coach, Norden Bhutia and Manager Biren Tamang will accompany the players to Indore. East district coach Norden Bhutia is a great coach and the association has full hope that the players will excel under his able guidance added the General Secretary. He also conveyed his message to all the players of the state to take inspiration from Bhaichung Bhutia and Tarundeep Rai who have proven themselves in the field of sports. He concluded by saying it is about developing the overall sports potential of the state and taking full advantage of the benefits that are being provided by the Sports Department.
