Ekta Club enters final audition of ‘India Got Talent’

GANGTOK, June 8:

Ekta club of Tadong, East Sikkim has been selected for the final audition of a national television program “India Got Talent” which is scheduled to be held on 19th June in Kolkata.

Ekta Club qualified for the final round after three rounds auditions, held in Kolkata on 12 May. Troop of 11 dancers from Sikkim will be performing ‘Maruni Dance’ in final audition.

Speaking to reporters Dancer Rabin Mukhia said, “Maruni is a traditional dance of Nepali community and they want to present it in ‘India Got Talent’ programme”. A reality show aired on Sony Entertainment is very famous in India and abroad as well. He added “artists from every state present their performance along with different type of forms but our team from Sikkim will showcase Nepali traditional dance during the programme”.

Mukhia said that if they get selected on 19th June during the final round audition then they will get an opportunity to show their performance in Mumbai. “There are two team from Sikkim and Darjeeling respectively but they have plan to tie up with Darjeeling during the final audition round of the program”.

Ekta Club hopes that Sikkim’s team will definitely get selected in the final audition round as the team consists of strong dancers along with performers. “We have good opportunity to show our talents in this sector too and did not want to miss it” added Mr. Mukhia.

Mr. Mukhia further said that during the Kolkata audition they were fortunate enough to get financial support from Chief Minister Pawan Chamling and Minister Mr. DB Thapa but presently they are in need of financial support again as the team consists of 11 members so today Mr. Mukhia appealed the people of sikkim for support. Mr. Mukhia so far has participated in numerous dance competitions in the state level and currently he is also one of the finalists selected for North east dance completion where the final’s of the said program is scheduled to be held in the month of July this year.
