Selected candidates after viva voice to fill up 150 posts

A total of 7,363 candidates sat for the written examination for the 150 posts of Accounts Clerk / Store Keepers conducted by the Finance, Revenue and Expenditure department at 14 centers in and around Gangtok on May 12.
As per an IPR release, the examinations were held under the strict supervision of officials from the finance department for which 10 nodal officers and 28 center coordinators and assistant coordinators were appointed.
Admit cards for sitting in the written examinations were obtained by 7,363 candidates from April 15 to May 10, even as 8,732 forms after scrutiny were found in order fulfilling the various criteria prescribed by the department. Altogether 11,191 applications forms were issued against which 8,783 forms duly filled were received by the department, the release details.
The written examination conducted on the objective type to fit the OMR (Optical Marks Recognition) technology, consisted of 140 marks having four papers – Arithmetic (80 marks), General English (20 marks), General Knowledge (20 marks) and Basic Computer Applications (20 marks). Delving into the process of the exam, the department, the release mentions had prepared a detailed operative guideline for conducting of examination which included appointment of center supervisor, assistant supervisor, sitting plan, action for use of unfair means, opening and distribution of question papers, attendance list of appearing candidates, supply of answer books, release of question papers, packing and dispatch of OMR sheets etc.
Detailed Do’s and Don’ts about OMR were also issued to the candidates along with the admit cards to facilitate them to prepare well in advance for the written examination. Special arrangements were also made for the differently able candidates, reads the release.
It further informs that the viva voce test will be conducted for those candidates who qualify in the written examination as per the norms prescribed by the Departmental Selection Committee. On final selection, memorandum will be issued for fulfilling the formalities for issuing final appointment letters.
“The department had observed absolute transparency in conducting the written examination and it is expected the result of the written examination will be announced and published very shortly. The results will also be available on the Government of Sikkim website Sikkim.gov.in and sikkimfred.gov.in, the release adds.
Further, the Finance department has also expressed its gratitude to the police department and the educational institutions for extending their cooperation and assistance for smooth conducting of exams.
