Hee- Bermiock Tourism Development and Heritage Conservation Society is organizing a three days long Heritage Festival from 10th to 13th May at Hee- Bermicok.
In a press release the society has informed that it has been organizing heritage festival since the last six years, and through this they want to encourage the participation of younger generation in the tourism sector. The society has always given preference to culture, traditional foods, traditional dress which gives the State its identity and through the festival society wants to attract tourist to come to their area.
There are many home stay and hotels in the area run by the local youths. The society also gives preference in eco- tourism and has been encouraging the villagers in this sector. Because of the sincere efforts made by all the society has been able to make a unique identity of that area. He- Bermiock is a small village but has done a lot of progress within short period of time. The society is following the direction of the Chief Minister Pawan Chamling, by taking up eco tourism and village tourism further.
During the festival traditional food stalls will be showcased and traditional dance and other cultural presentations will also be the main attraction of the festival. The society has also planned to felicitate Minister for Energy and Power, Mr Sonam Gyasto Lepcha, former tourism Secretary Mr SBS Bhaduria, senior Journalists and senior citizen on the occasion. Half Marathon will also be organized on the last day of the festival.
The release also informs that earlier on 30th April an executive meeting was held in the capital regarding this upcoming festival where Mr. Mohan Subba, KB Kawar, Dr. RL Sharma, Dr. RP Sharma were selected as advisory body of the technical department for this festival.
