Fund raising for Mangan Music Festival
MANGAN, Jan. 23, 2011: Mangan Tourism Development Committee (MTDC) is organizing a fund raising musical programme. It is presenting Girish and the Chronicles rock band from Gangtok on evening of Republic Day at Zilla Bhawan, Mangan. The MTDC is going to organize the programme by means of donor’s card and tickets push up.
The Mangan Music Festival (MMF) is the mega festival of North District for exploring tourism, North East and local artistes in Sikkim. It was started in 2003 but could not be organized for the last two years due to lack of fund.
After January 26th evening fund raising musical programme the committee will raise the fund by means of voluntarily donations and organizing several other programmes. Area MLA, TW Lepcha had also assured full support for organizing MMF at the end of 2011, looking at the tourist expected to flow to North District which will benefit the people of North Sikkim.
