One Sikkimese in India team for World Summer Games

GANGTOK, APRIL 29.
After his success at the National Bocce Championship held at Patna last year, Manish Dhakal a representative of Special Olympic Bharat (SOB), Sikkim Chapter (being held for differently abled persons) is preparing for his next battle “World Summer Games 2011’ which is scheduled to be held in Greece, informed the assistant area director
SOB, Sikkim Chapter, Narendra Chettri to Sikkim Mail on 29th April.

Informing more, Mr. Chettri said that on 8th of June, he himself as a Volleyball team coach along with Mr. Dhakal will be departing for Delhi to attend the final camp of 10 days and after completion of the 10 days long camp. The duo will be heading for Greece. For participating in the world summer games the participants have to complete three preparatory camps which were held at Pondicherry, Rohtak and the final which will be at Delhi.

Around 280 athletes, coaches, head of delegation (HOD), will be representing the nation at World Summer Games 2011. Further, Mr. Chettri said that the expectation from the lone participant from Sikkim and India as a whole is very high in this forum and hoped that the journey will be successful and fruitful.
