GANGTOK, JUNE 27: The land donors of the newly constructed PMGSY road at Rabi Chongdong in North Sikkim have complained regarding the non payment of their land
compensation. The road links Namok village to Robi Chongthong under Namok-Sweyam GPU of Dzongu constituency.
The three kilometre road was started during the year 2009. 90% of work here has been completed but the villagers are yet to receive their compensation. A total of 45 houses have provided the land for the said PMGSY road. Apart from it, the houses which suffered damages by the said construction has also been neglected and few houses
here has been shifted to temporary safer location by themselves due to damages.
The land donors have already submitted the estimate of compensation a year earlier during the year 2010 but no intimation has been forwarded by the concerned Department. The villagers have thus appealed to the government that they be paid their compensation as soon as possible.
