Sikkim based Casino Mahjong has targeted gamblers from outside the state which has added an extra flavor to the blooming tourism industry of the state. Marketing Manager, Casino Mahjong Dev Khadka informed this to media when he was asked about tourists visiting this tiny Himalayan state. ”We have done a lot of marketing for Sikkim along with our casino and this
step carried by us will be helpful in uplifting the tourism here” said Mr.

Guests who come here to gamble, feel very much comfortable with the service provided to them. The service of the casino as well as the climatic condition of the state is equally appreciated by the visitors, said Mr. Khadka.

The marketing executive of the company Yogesh Chettri said that being the first live casino in the country we have not let any stone unturned to serve our customers. Tourist from Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are mainly targeted, informed Mr. Chettri. Furthermore Mr. Chettri added that the locals are less encouraged for gambling. In the past three months June, July and, August, more than 4700 visitors from Nepal, Jaipur, Kolkata and Siliguri have been recorded here.

Management further feel that tourism is yet not exploited properly in Sikkim. Possibly home stay will foster here having ‘Mayfair’ already made announcement to adopt Darap, West Sikkim as a home stay destination in the state, added Mr. Chettri. “We will explore the beauty and virginity of the hills (Himalayas) of Sikkim like sea in Goa to promote tourism, Mr. Chettri opened the plan.

‘Casino Mahjong’ was opened on June 24 having its first lucky draw held on August 27. Manoj Chawdhary of Singtam was the first lucky winner of the draw, with a Ritz car as a prize. Dev Khadka also informed that every three months the draw will be held at Casino Mahjong in Mayfair.
