Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) Party has strongly condemned the statement of
opposition parties in a press release. The release states that due to the bad
weather condition and continuous rainfall the rescue teams have been facing severe
problems. One of the problems is that of Helicopters. The Helicopters too are
facing difficulties due to bad weather condition. State Government has demanded
more Helicopters in the State for distribution of relief materials in the
earthquake affected areas. Chief Minister Pawan Chamling is tying his
level best in this moment but the opposition parties even in this critical time
are playing their cheap and negative role and are trying to misguide the people.

The release further adds that there are many rescue teams who have been working sincerely since 18th
September 2011 till date. The only barrier has been the bad weather condition, as
rescue teams could not reach in every affected area, but they are trying their
level best to do so. All departmental officers are also visiting affected places.
State Government has been working sincerely and is trying every means in relation
to distribution of relief material to affected people and to make them free of
panic, which is deeply rooted in the minds of the people. But there are some
opposition parties who are trying to create panic among the people. In the release
SDF Party even mentions that people will never forgive such anti-social elements.
The Party further claims that Earthquake is a natural phenomenon but the
opposition parties are of the belief that it occurred due to the power projects.
Party has also appealed to people not to believe in such rumours.
