Sikkim Police and SAI Namchi achieved one more win each in the senior division Sikkim League matches played at Paljor Stadium on Monday. Sikkim Police vectored over Dzongri Club with four goals to one, while SAI ruled out United Sikkim Football Club with one goal to nil respectively. Both the teams played attacking game from the beginning of the match but numerous beautiful chances were missed to turn into goals.

Sikkim Police with the goal of Pahalman Subba in the 23rd minute started to lead the game and just before the end of first-half another goal scored by Engpohang Subba extended the lead of 2 goals to Sikkim Police in the 44th minute of the game. The second half again witnessed some beautiful opportunities which were missed by Dzongri’s strikers. Engpohang Subba, by keeping his attacking game, completed his brace by scoring the third goal for Sikkim Police in the 74th minute. After ten minutes of Sumba’s score, Lakpa Sherpa of Dzongri scored the face saver for Dzongri in the 84th minute. In the last minutes of the match, the referee offered a penalty shootout to Sikkim Police for a foul in the Dzongri D box area, which was successfully turned into the fourth goal kicked by Thupden Bhutia.

In the second match of the day, SAI players played an attacking game and made constant attacks right from the beginning and in the course, USFC also made some good counter attacks but the first half ended nil.
In the second half, both teams played neck to neck but no goal was scored until Ezra scored the winning goal in the 74th minute favoring SAI, Namchi’s victory.
