Acting president of Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee (SPCC) Kunga Nima Lepcha has strongly condemned the statement of KN Upreti in a press conference held today here at SPCC Head office, Development area, Gangtok.

While addressing media Mr. Lepcha said that Mr. Upreti had stated that Mr. Lepcha needs to re-file a petition in the Supreme Court against the ruling government that too with in fifteen days. Lepcha alleged him of withdrawing the petition after having a deal with the SDF party.

Mr. Lepcha clarified that SPCC had decided to withdraw the petition due to lack of document and soon after the arrival of NB Bhandari the refilling of the petition in Supreme Court will be decided.

Earlier Mr. Bhandari during the party meet had informed the members that the petition would be refiled in the Supreme Court soon after availing all the proper, appropriate documents to make the case strong.

Mr. Upreti has no right to speak against him as he is no more a SPCC member and on top of that the party has expelled him long time back added Mr. Lepcha.

Stating more Mr. Lepcha informed that Mr. Upreti is not a petitioner and has no right to speak against the party. He said that Upreti is not even the vice president of SPCC as public relation officer Juber Khan had expelled him from the party in the year 2010. Mr. Upreti presently does not possess the party membership nor does he have the identity card as he till date has not renewed his membership in the party, added Lepcha.

During the filing of the petition Mr. Upreti had even refused to be a petitioner, said Lepcha. He further informed that the party currently is collecting strong documents against the ruling government. After colleting the complete documents to support a strong petition, the party will refile the petition in Supreme Court.

He had filed a case in Supreme Court seeking permission of CBI enquiry
in the state but due to lack of document he had withdrawn the case that too with the decision of the party members.

Likewise general secretary Mr. DB Basnett in his address said that SPCC has
already expelled Mr. Upreti from his post, party considering his anti party
activity and also claimed that Mr. Upreti is no more a party member. Adding
further Mr. Basnett mentioned that Mr. Upreti has enormous craze for the post and chair and by carrying out numerous anti party activities he wanted to hold the post of SPCC president too which is impossible.

Furthermore Mr. Basnett said that the congress high command had even send a revoked letter to Mr. Upreti and his group but the letter till date have not arrived at SPCC party office. All the decision to carry out any act or to dispatch will be taken by the executive body, he added.

SPCC has filed an application under RTI demanding secret document regarding the CBI enquiry. The documents are important since due to lack of document the party had to withdraw the case/ petition filed in Supreme Court, Basnet said.
