The Indian Army evacuated 41 people today from Mangan including three ITBP Jawans, and the evacuated people were dropped at Gangtok and Bagdogra.
While addressing to media, Army spokesperson Ravi Patil informed that they also dropped three technicians in Lachung as there is no power supply. The technicians will be working for the temporary restoration of power.
The water pipes were also dropped in Lachung. Army has opened two medical camps today in Lingdong and treated around 186 people. They have sent 4 columns army troops in West and South district for rescue operation.
He informed that they dropped 1000 kg ration in Lachen, 9250 kg ration in Chungthang, 400 kg ration in Lachung and 390 kg ration in Thangu North Sikkim. In addition to that, relief materials like blanket, food etc were dropped in North Sikkim, said Mr. Patil.
