BJP memorandum to Sikkim Govt against school land encroachment

Mrs. Kesang Choden Bhutia resident of Sribadam has illegally captured the land belonging to KB Limboo which is provided by Mr. Limboo for the construction of Government Secondary School, Sribadam West Sikkim.

Mrs. Bhutia after illegally capturing the land has already started the
construction of multi storied building which actually falls under school site.

Regarding the illegal construction the Head Master R.K Sharma had also submitted a report to the Joint Director Human Resource and Development Department (HRDD) on 23 rd September 2011 which is remains unheard.

A press conference was held on Sunday here in the capital where the President of Bharatiya Janta Party Sikkim Unit Padam Chettri briefing media informed about the illegal capturing of school land by Mrs. Bhutia. The school authority and local people together as well have submitted a report to the District Collector and Chief Secretary on 6th October 2011.

The management committee of Sribadam School has requested the HRD Department to intervene on the matter at the earliest and to take necessary action so that the school may get back the encroached land soon. Likewise the State Secretary BJP Laten Tshering Sherpa considering the encroachment of school land has also submitted a memorandum to the District Collector and Chief Secretary on behalf of the villagers. Mr. Sherpa mentioned that if the Department fails to return back the encroached school land then they will take law in their hand and remove the criminal from the government property.

As per the survey conducted by Village Level Officer (VLO) it was proved that Mrs. Kesang Choden Bhutia has illegally encroached the school land
measuring about 56 feet and the survey report has also been submitted to the management committee of the school. Regarding the encroachment of school land BJP Sikkim unit has provided one month’s ultimatum to HRDD department and Chief Secretary to solve the issue. Youth president BJP Sikkim UnitPrabhuram Kharka during the conference informed that the Government Contractor Mr. Kumar Gurung has already received 80% of the bill amount from the concerned department but the construction of guest house at Rinchenpong still remains incomplete

The construction work of the guest house had started from the year 2006 which is still incomplete and the government is silent instead of taking strict action against the contractor.
