Melli Police nabs a peddler in Sikkim

Gangtok: November 13, 2011

Melli Police arrested a drug peddler, on the spot while his partner escaped from the clutches of the police. According to the police, some reliable sources informed police station that the duo were peddling drugs from Siliguri, acting upon the information received, police reached at Melli check post and waited for the peddlers.

Furthermore police even starting checking, searching of every
vehicle crossing the check post. During the search operation police recovered 7520 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon, 96 bottles of Recodex and 190 tablets of Nitrosun-10 from the accused from under the seat of the vehicle.

Police arrested driver Bikash Rai, 23 year- old resident of Daragaon Jorethang but the other accused Sibijan Subba resident of Majhigaon, Jorethang escaped. The chase for the absconding accuse is underway, police informs. Further Melli Police have filed a case under Sikkim Anti Drugs Act, 2006 against duo peddlers Bikash Rai and Sibijan Subba on 10th November 2011.
