GANGTOK: January 7, 2012

The Gnon-Sangdong won the Suskurtot (Organic Mela) Open Football Tournament by defeating Achuley Seven Gor by 3-0 goals and lifted the cup in a final match on 6th of January 2012. The final match was played at Gor Secondary school ground in Lower Dzongu North Sikkim.

A total of sixteen team participated in the tournament which started on 23rd of December 2o11.

The winner of the tournament was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 20,000
along with trophy. The runner up teams won Rs. 10,000 in cash respectively.

The final match of the tournament was attended by the Chief Whip cum
Area MLA Tumin-Lingee constituency. Ugen T Gyatso Bhutia was the chief
guest while Zilla Adhyaksha North, Khamsoong Lepcha was the special guest. The final match today was also witnessed by CDPO BAC Pasingdang, Hishey Lhamu Bhutia, Zilla member Chedup Lepcha, officials of various
departments, Panchayat members and the general public.

The prizes were also awarded to man of the match, highest scorer, player of the tournament and best goal keeper.
